Miss me?
I've been away from my blogs for the past few months and I've really
missed it. It seems like every time I would have something to post life
managed to get in the way. I just haven't been very good at making
time for it and it shows. Now that we've settled into a new school year
I am going to do my best to post on a regular basis. I can't promise
what I'll post but it'll be something LOL.

It Just Goes To Show Ya'...
As soon as you think you've got a handle on life - it'll teach you different. I haven't been around Cyberland much for the past 6 weeks or so and I'm going through withdrawls! My laptop decided to put itself on an extended vacation and so I've been reduced to begging, borrowing, and/or stealing time on assorted computers and dealing in only the most essential communications until it returned. It should be back tomorrow and then life should return to.... dare I say... normal?!? I have much to share so be prepared! As soon as I boot my baby back up I'll be off to show my face around SecularHomeschool.com's forums - my favorite hangout that I've missed dearly!

Early Teacher Appreciation
For years I have sent little gifts and thank you cards to school with M. during Teacher Appreciation Week. Until this year when we started to homeschooling. To be honest it was such a relief not to have to worry about birthdays, class parties, goody bags, teacher presents etc. that it never occurred to me that I now qualify as the teacher.
Until I came home the other day and found this on the island in our kitchen:
I'll admit it... there were tears. What can I say - inside I'm just a big ole' softy. It didn't hurt that it was filled with chocolate either.
So, Happy Early Teacher Appreciation Week to all of you!

Back again...
The past couple of weeks I've been working over 2x the number of hours I usually do and have had my hands full keeping up with everything. As a result, both my blog posts and my time over on Secular Homeschoolers.com have suffered greatly and I'm a little surprised by how much I have missed both of them.
Things have settled back down to what passes for normal around here so I should be posting more regularly now. I'm looking forward to it!

Makeover Time!
Who doesn't LOVE a makeover? After playing around in the blogosphere these past few weeks I've learned a little bit and decided that my new baby deserved a much needed update! I slapped something together when I set it up just to get going and am much happier with the new look. I think that it fits me better.
A new post will be making its way here later this evening, now that I've come back to the land of grown ups. I feel like I'm 5 years old and I spent all morning playing in the equivalent of my mother's makeup case - changing backgrounds, fonts, colors, etc. and loving every minute of it.
Thanks for stopping by!

Lets Get Started...
So, I've decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon. I have no idea why I decided to take this on but once the inspiration hit there was no stopping it. Of course, if I kept track of all the things I've done that I should have known better about... it would be incredibly depressing and more than a little bit embarrassing - so I don't keep track. It's easier that way.
That being said, I'm not entirely sure what this blog will consist of. I've seen cooking blogs, photo blogs, scrapbooking blogs, family blogs, homeschooling blogs and some people that have one of each. Knowing me, I'll be lucky to keep one blog going with any regularity.
I suppose this blog will be just what my daily life is... a mishmash of family, cooking, homeschooling, photos, scrapbooking, and whatever else we can cram in here.
To begin, I suppose it's only fair to tell you a little bit about myself. I'm 34 years old. I've been married to a great guy (D.) for over 15 years and am mother to (M.) a 9 year old whirlwind who fancies himself to be a karate chopping, Alton Brown wannabe, computer geek-in-training. Our whole family started out on a new adventure this fall when we started homeschooling for the first time! I'm as excited as can be... not to mention terrified!
Thanks for stopping by! I'm looking forward to this... if nothing else, it will be entertaining!
